Every year it's the same old thing, "few players have the potential of Mike Vick"....Yada yada yada. We have never seen potential win a fantasy league championship, and we've never seen Vick come close to being what so many people say he is. Look at his CR for crying out loud! How do you rank a QB who failed to throw for 150yds a ridiculous 9 times last year as the 11th best overall QB? If you happen to play in a "best ball" type of league where you get the points of your best guy at each position then Vick has some value (because he will probably have about 3 big weeks). However, in a normal league where consistency is so crucial, then Vick is a back-up, period. One of these years we may be wrong about Vick, but it won't be this year.
For years we've heard the theories about how QBs aren't important enough in fantasy football to draft in the 1st round. So does that mean that all of you who drafted LaMont Jordan ahead of Peyton Manning in 2006 are planning on doing it again this year? Didn't think so. Coming soon on this page you will find rankings, analysis and projections for every starting QB in the NFL as well as any back-ups that may have some worth in 2007. The analysis of Mike Vick below is what we told our readers about him in June of 2006. The numbers in parenthesis after our projections are his final numbers for the 2006 season. The XR is where we had him ranked before the season began, and the CR is the "consensus ranking" of 25 other fantasy experts.
