WERE YOU READY FOR
WEEK 14?

Our members were!
Below are excerpts from our Game Day Page for Week 14. Game Day is available to our members every Friday.

Comments: To hear all the talk, you'd think the Steelers were favored.  Don't buy it, the Patriot WRs should expose the Steelers secondary.
(We'd call 399yds. and 4TDs exposed..)

Comments:  Look for a good day for the Cowboys offense, especially Marion Barber.
(For the record Barber finished with 104 total yards and 3TDs.)

Comments: Ryan Grant owners have got to be drooling...
(156 rushing yards and a TD are definitely drool inspiring numbers.)

Comments:   This week though we look for Graham to put up top 10 fantasy RB numbers.
(Graham's 106 total yards and 2TDs made him a top 10 RB.)

PRE-SEASON  FEATURES
  REGULAR  SEASON  FEATURES
  AFTER FURTHER REVIEW
Have you ever noticed how the weather guys on TV never feel any need to explain why they missed yesterday's forecast?  They just go right on talking and fully expect us to believe them - even if the Partly Sunny and 60 degrees he forecasted turned into Rain and 40 degrees.  Over the years we've noticed that most fantasy football websites operate under the same principal - but not us.
We grade every ranking and projection we made last year and post it for all the world to see.  (Final grades for all positions should be completed by early April.)  We feel strongly that if we're going to ask you to trust us, we should give you good reason to do so.  Below are a few examples of our results for the 2007 season.  Complete grades and analysis are available on the position pages in the pre-season features.

Jon Kitna
Final Grade:  A

Projections:              Final Stats:
PassingYds: 4,059        4,068
PassingTDs: 22                 18
INTs: 20                            20
RushingYds: 113               63
Fantasy Points:  221         201

Bottom Line:  When you only miss a guy's passing totals by nine yards and you nail his INTs, you just gotta be happy.
Pre-season prediction:   "Kitna has always shown an ability to do well when no one was expecting much but has struggled when expectations were high."
Season result:  After openly talking about throwing 50 TDs, Kitna returned to the form that has made him what he is - a journeyman QB.

Edgerrin James
Final Grade: A+

Projections:              Final Stats:
Rushing Yds:  1,245        1,222
Rushing TDs:        7              7
Receiving Yds:   201           204
Fantasy Points: 187            184

Bottom Line:  Putting up numbers like these on a guy that people were unsure about, is what makes this job fun.
Pre-season prediction:  "We are looking for James to have somewhat of a rebirth under run-oriented HC Ken Whisenhunt...but we don't expect him to be quite as involved in the passing game as he has been in the past."
Season Result:  James was far more consistent on the ground but had the lowest receiving total of his career.

Terrell Owens
Final Grade: A+

Projections:                Final Stats:
Receiving Yds: 1,271        1,355
Receiving TDs:     15             15
Fantasy Points:  217           225

Bottom Line:  Ask yourself this, how many other sites projected Owens for 15 TDs?
Pre-season prediction:  "Owens and Romo have already formed a solid relationship and we look for that to grow.  Owens is a first round pick."
Season Result:  While other owners spent early picks on the likes of Steve Smith and Torry Holt, our members took Owens late in the first round and smiled about it all year.

        IT'S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As you know, there are a lot of fantasy football websites out there.  Some of them offer thousands of pages of articles, some  feature a lot of high tech bells and whistles, and some are so big and so popular you figure they "just have to be good."  Here at Xtreme Fantasy Football.com we believe that what sets a good fantasy football website apart from all the others is the numbers.  After all, fantasy football is a game of numbers, and numbers don't lie.  (Unless you work for the IRS, but that's another story.)
With that in mind, take a look at the numbers below.  We took on some of the biggest and best fantasy sites out there in the Fantasy Expert Challenge.  Each site was asked to project the performance of players at the "money" positions (QB, RB, and WR) before the season began.  These projections were then graded out and averaged at the end of the season.  Our average finish was first.  It's tough to get much better than that.

            First Place Finishes

3. Junkyard Jake - 11
4. NFL Freaks - 11
5. ESPN - 10

We also once again provided our members with the very best in waiver wire recommendations.  For instance, in Week 4 we told our members to pick up Brian Griese and start him, then in Week 5 we said the same about Gus Frerotte, and then finished off the tri-fecta by recommending Cleo Lemon in Week 6.  Unconventional?  Sure, but over that three week period the only QB to outscore our three waiver wire starters was Tom Brady.
Then there's the case of Justin Fargas.  After he became the starter and began to put up points on a consistent basis there was a mad rush to claim him, but our members had claimed him two weeks before he became the starter because we believed he would soon be the starter with a favorable schedule ahead of him.
So, what about you?  Are you ready to win?  If so, join the Xtreme Team today, and let the winning begin.
